Sadie Stephenson has raised over £3.5k so far for the Williams Syndrome Founation

Local mum, Sadie Stephenson, ran the Manchester Marathon in aid for the Williams Syndrome Foundation. Hailing from Thirsk, this was Sadie’s first ever marathon and has raised over £3,500 so far for the foundation which helps children and adults living with the rare genetic disorder.

Sadies’ daughter Florence has Williams Syndrome which was discovered when she was just 6 weeks old. Sadie says she wants to “address stigma and change the perception of disability” saying “it should be seen as a unique ability, not disability”.

The condition occurs randomly and affects around 1 in 18,000 people in the UK. To donate, visit Sadie’s Just Giving page.
