Christmas might not be long behind us but the Christmas Market for 2023 is already being discussed following dangerous overcrowding and safety concerns last year, with record crowds attending.

Christmas might not be long behind us but the Christmas Market for 2023 is already being discussed following dangerous overcrowding and safety concerns last year, with record crowds attending.

Concerns were raised at the council's community safety scrutiny committee and overcrowding has been a complaint for several years now.

The Christmas Market was certainly deemed a success but many of the public complained it was impossible to get near some of the stalls and becoming separated from their group.
