Visiting York Minster during the current period of mourning

York Minster is currently closed for sighseeing but open for prayer and reflection during the current period of mourning. York Minster will also be offering pastoral support.

There will be special prayers for the late Queen throughout the period.

Special services:

On Saturday 17th September at 5.30pm a special commemorative service of Choral Evensong will be held for the late Queen.  All are invited.

On Sunday 18th September, a civic commemoration service in the nave of York Minster will take place at 4.00pm. All are invited.

Please check the York Minster website for updates at www.yorkminster.org.

You can place flowers outside York Minster in the Dean’s Park under the Five Sisters Window.

When laying floral tributes please remove plastic or cellophane wrappings, and anything that is non-biodegradable, to ensure flowers can be composted when they are no longer fresh.
