Sari’s UK spring dates follow a sold-out European tour in 2023. On the back of two critically-claimed albums, ‘Force of Nature’ and ‘Never Say Never’ - and most recently, the 2023 Billboard Blues chart-topping collaboration album with Robin Trower - Sari returns for a UK run of dates ahead of the release of her new solo album later this year.

Joining the band on drums will be Lee Morris from iconic British rock band Magnum - and bassist Chris Cliff also joins the lineup on the back of tour and recording work with FM’s Jim Kirkpatrick. Ash Wilson, who has recently toured Europe with Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland, resumes on lead guitar duties with Sari for the UK tour.

With the welcome arrival of Lee Morris on drums, Sari’s band will use the UK tour dates to pay a respectful tribute to Magnum’s songwriter Tony Clarkin, who recently passed away. In addition to adding a legendary song from the ‘A Storyteller’s Night’ album to the tour set list, Sari’s band will also be collecting donations for the Tony Clarkin’s animal welfare fundraiser at each of the UK shows. Animal welfare is also an issue close to Sari’s heart.

Sari’s UK tour dates will also feature the only live UK performances of songs from the Billboard chart-topping ‘Joyful Sky’ album that Sari worked on with blues guitar maestro Robin Trower last October. There are no plans for Sari and Robin to do a joint tour to promote this album, so Sari will give the live premiere of a number of songs from ‘Joyful Sky’ before attention turns to her new solo album, which will be out later this year.

For the UK spring tour, Sari will be joined by special guests Matt Pearce and the Mutiny. The dates are presented by The Gig Cartel with support from national radio station Planet Rock.

Ahead of the York show, Sari Schorr commented: “I’m really looking forward to our show at York on 17th April and the planets are aligning for what promises to be a very special night. I’m so excited to welcome Lee and Chris into the band; there’s already an exciting chemistry and the addition of ‘Joyful Sky’ songs into the set list will give fans a unique live experience that won’t be repeated after this run of spring dates. With Lee’s arrival, the whole band wanted to do something to pay tribute to the tremendous - and very British - music legacy of Magnum and we’ve already started rehearsing a cover of one of their great songs.

“We would also like to take a moment to thank the team at The Crescent Community Venue for welcoming us to the town on Friday 17th April. The future of live music has been under threat since the pandemic and we all need to support the work of such important venues for keeping music alive. It’s going to be a special celebration of live music in York – do join us.”

About Sari Schorr

With a five-octave range and a diverse vocal skill set, Sari Schorr sets herself apart. Born in Queens, New York, working the music scene on Manhattan’s Lower East Side to performing at Carnegie Hall and touring internationally, Sari Schorr directs her passion for music as a timeless force to unify people.

From her travels around the world, Sari sees music and the arts as under attack. Art and culture have always been a beacon of freedom and a unifying element of society. Music empowers and unites, accepts difference and values individualism.

Along Sari’s journey, some life experiences - considered to be as debilitating as they are heart breaking - have only accentuated her aura of genuine, raw resilience and strength. A first responder in the 9/11 attacks; a volunteer aid worker after the earthquake in Haiti - and thrown into a car trunk and kidnapped in China. Despite such pain, Sari only sees silver linings in everything she has seen throughout her life. Sari does not indulge in artificial success, glorification or meaningless lyrics. Sari paves the way for a vision of unity made possible with a shared love for music, holding a mirror to the world to say we are all one people. People are kind, people are compassionate. Hate drives discrimination - we cannot think creatively when we are under the guise of fear.

Throughout her career as a musician, Sari has been told to ‘shut up and sing’ when speaking out on crisis or relevant societal topics such as gun control, racism and equality. Such irony can be drawn from this because Sari’s lyrics are entrenched in global issues and a passion that resonates with audiences of all cultures and geographies. No line is random and no words are empty in the music she writes; speaking on behalf of the people and standing tall as a voice for those who are silenced. Topics like self-empowerment, standing up to hatred, taking chances and embracing life, loneliness, forgiveness. Sari writes of the psychological warp of domestic/sexual abuse survival, and speaks on behalf of people being treated unjustly; those who are disenfranchised and don’t have a voice.
