About the Public File
Each local radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK media regulator.
About Jorvik Radio
Jorvik Radio is a local radio station broadcasting on 94.8FM from a transmitter site to the west of York city centre. It's also available online, on our app, smart speaker & Freeview Channel 277.
News Bulletins
Jorvik Radio broadcasts national & international news on the hour, 24 hours a day. Our news is provided by Radio News Hub.
Local news bulletins are broadcast from our in-house news team Monday to Friday at 0630, 0930 and 1530.

Music Policy
Jorvik Radio is programmed to play music that'll fit the 30-55 demographic. We're proud of our output, and you can often hear songs from the 1980s, with emphasis on 1990s and 2000s, as well as keeping the playlist fresh with new music on the 'J List'. Specialist shows in the evening (after 8pm) include genres such as rock, indie, blues, northern soul, motown, world music, reggae & LGBT anthems.
