This year, the team at Jorvik Radio will be supporting the Three Bears Foundation, a York-based charity that raises much-needed funds and promotes awareness for those diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on and today Jorvik Radio launched its annual Christmas charity raffle.

This year, the team at Jorvik Radio will be supporting the Three Bears Foundation, a York-based charity that raises much-needed funds and promotes awareness for those diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

The raffle was announced on Burnsy’s Breakfast Club this morning, where he shared details of some excellent prizes to be won just in time for Christmas.

Listeners can purchase a ticket by going to  jorvikradio.com/raffle  for a chance to win prizes from York City FC, York Rugby League FC, a meal for 2 and drinks at Ate O’Clock, hair and beauty sessions, a family photo shoot and much more.

Mark Burn, a trustee from the Three Bears Foundation said: "We are absolutely delighted by the excellent support from Jorvik Radio and listeners from in and around the York area.

We are determined to raise public awareness and funds to further medical research and support the families that have been affected by pancreatic cancer. Anyone purchasing a raffle ticket this Christmas will make a huge difference to support us in our ambitions.

The Three Bears Foundation vision is for much faster and more accurate medical diagnosis – and eventually the prevention, effective treatment and cure of this disease.

We wish to thank all the listeners for supporting us, especially at this time of year when we value the time spent with family and friends."

Bill Colman, Managing Director for Jorvik Radio said: "As Jorvik Radio continues to grow, we are proud of our roots in supporting the people and businesses of York. We appreciate times are harder than ever for most people and we thank our listeners for supporting our fabulous raffle to raise as much money as we can for the Three Bears Foundation in York this Christmas."

Jorvik Radio would also like to thank the following businesses for generously donating prizes for our Christmas raffle:

Streamline taxis, York City FC, Toomer photography, York Emporium, Ate O’Clock, Capricorn Beauty, The Styling Room, Fenwicks, York Rugby League FC, Pavers, Fill ya boots Café and The Family Shambles.
