Volunteers, leaders and VCSE sector organisations are dedicated to making volunteering even better across our city, join them... 

As part of the launch of the York Citywide Volunteering Strategy, we’re asking all organisations who involve volunteers to sign the York Citywide Volunteering Pledge. The pledge shows your organisation’s commitment to aspire to achieve the principles set out below. Your organisation doesn’t have to have all the principles in place now, but by signing the pledge you are showing your dedication to contributing towards a thriving culture of Volunteering in York.

• Consider city priorities
• Share good practice resources
• Simplify and reduce the bureaucracy
• Have an Equality/Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
• Support those who need extra help to volunteer
• Contribute content to city-wide comms campaigns
• Promote city-wide comms campaigns
• Have Volunteers feed in to your strategy/board
• Participate in upcoming York Volunteering Surveys

Join us in saying a huge THANK YOU to our city's Volunteers during Volunteers' Week

Taking place from 1 - 7 June, Volunteers' Week is an opportunity to recognise and say thank you to York's Volunteers 

To mark Volunteers' Week we're asking organisations in York to join us in saying thank you. Here's how your organisation can get involved: 

1. Send us a short video (in landscape mode) from your smartphone, saying 'Thank you'. Make sure your video includes your logo in the background! Send your video to comms@yorkcvs.org.uk and we'll put them all together to share during Volunteers' Week. 
2. Share your Volunteer stories with us. Let us know how Volunteers have helped your organisation and say a special thank you and shout out to your Volunteers. If you're a Volunteer, share your experiences of Volunteering to inspire others to get involved. We'll publish your stories on our website and share them on social media. Email your stories to: comms@yorkcvs.org.uk
