By Barbara Constable

York St John Communities Centre, have  a handful of free fully funded coaching sessions (5 per person) available, in partnership with City of York Council’s Inclusive Growth fund) for business owners or employees of micro, small, or medium businesses in York.

Their coaches have been supporting individuals from exploring areas such as confidence and self-esteem/worth, understanding and dealing with personal and professional relationships, to having more self-awareness and trust in their decisions made.

"The self-awareness generated from these sessions will feedback into my personal and business life. It feels really great to be able to tackle business with a clear head and baggage left behind." - Business Partner, York

Coaches will work alongside you to explore and support you with whatever you may be going through. This may be:

 Stress, overwhelm or burnout

 Motivation

 Time management and workload

 Healthy and sustainable routine/structure

 Work/life balance

 Prioritising own wellbeing

 Anxieties related to personal/professional life

Understanding how to support self, & others better

 Making changes and taking action

 Resilience

Self-awareness & understanding your values, needs & desires

 Independence

 Personal and professional boundaries

Understanding the choices you make and why

This may be done by:

 Increasing self-awareness

Assessing your aims & exploring options

Explore how you best 'work' with stress, pressure and motivation

Examining your barriers & how to move past them

 Setting boundaries & managing time

Prioritising & managing your self-care and wellbeing

Empowering decision making which feels aligned

 Implementing changes

 Encouraging self-exploration and growth

 Provide tools to self-coach

What they won't do:

Provide practical guidance on your business

 Give advice on business management

Tell you what changes to make in your life

Advise what they think is “best” for you

"The coach I was working with, was very easy to talk to and made me feel heard, listened to and valued. I feel I have learned a lot about myself and the way I want to implement my own wellbeing into my business and my personal life. Very grateful I had the opportunity to work with [coach]." - Business Owner, York

The remaining coaching spaces will go on a first come first serve basis.
