York Professor joining Influential Academy

Mark Sculpher, Professor of Health Economics at the University of York, has been elected as Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

The election recognises the Professor’s contributions to developments in health sciences research that have translated into benefits for patients and wider society. 

Professor Sculpher is one of 58 Fellows elected this year, whose expertise includes clinical and non-clinical disciplines, and ranges from midwifery to cancer stem cell biology.

Professor Sculpher, is the Director of the University of York's Centre for Health Economics and Co-Director of the Policy Research Unit in Economic Evaluation of Health and Care Interventions (EEPRU).

The Academy of Medical Sciences is an independent  body of experts representing the diversity of medical science in the UK.

The Academy aims to advance biomedical and health research and it’s positive impact on society.

The Academy's elected Fellows are some of the most influential scientists in the UK and worldwide.

Professor Sculpher will be formally admitted to the Academy at a ceremony on Wednesday 18th September 2024.
