Appeal following assault near York Minster

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in York City Centre.

It happened on High Petergate near York Minster at 10pm on Saturday 27 January 2024 and involved a group of around ten youths who surrounded and assaulted a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s.

The woman received a small cut to her knee and the man received a small bruise to his face. A third person who was with the man and woman, a woman in her 20s, did not receive any injuries.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
