Over 60 bikers from York Motorcycle Action Group (York MAG) and Strawberry Fields Café have successfully completed a motorcycle 'Egg Run' to deliver Easter cheer, activity packs and lots of all important easter eggs to the children's ward at York Hospital.

Over 60 bikers from York Motorcycle Action Group (York MAG) and Strawberry Fields Café have successfully completed a motorcycle 'Egg Run' to deliver Easter cheer, activity packs and lots of all important easter eggs to the children's ward at York Hospital.

In addition, thanks to the efforts of the riders and support from local businesses, including A1 Moto Services, Fibrenet Office Solutions Ltd, York Motorbikes, PC Revamp, and Sports Bike Leeds, the Egg Run helped raise over £800 for the ward, which will go towards making the environment and experience better for children who need to spend time on the ward.

Richard Suddaby, Branch Rep at York MAG, said:  "We are thrilled to have organised such a successful event with Strawberry Fields Cafe and to see so many people come together for such a good cause.  The children's ward at York Hospital does such important work, so we are delighted to have been able to provide some extra Easter cheer this year."

The Egg Run, which started at Strawberry Fields Café, took place on Sunday 27 March.  Anyone who missed the event but would like to support the charity can find out more on the website www.yshospitalscharity.org or call the fundraising team on 01904 724521.

Richard added: “On behalf of York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, York Motorcycle Action Group and Strawberry Fields Café, sincere thanks to everyone who participated, donated, or supported the event.”

York and Scarborough Hospitals Charity raises money to improve the experience and environment for everyone who uses or visits the hospitals of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  They support staff to make the hospital experience the best it can be for all who visit and stay with us.  In 2020/21 York and Scarborough Hospitals Charity raised and spent in excess of a million pounds to improve patient care and wellbeing, buy additional equipment and carry out refurbishments in the hospitals.
