Blake Street re-opened

Work on the permanent protective measures has been completed in Blake Street with the sliding bollards having been installed.

Blake Street has reopened with anti-terror bollards in place. Work on the permanent protective measures has been completed in Blake Street with the sliding bollards having been installed outside Clarkson's Menswear.

Blake Street was closed to vehicles for just under six weeks during the work. City of York Council’s scheme to protect York from ‘vehicle as weapon attacks’ has now entered its final phase. A council spokesperson has said that the next work will see the junction at Parliament Street and High Ousegate close to traffic as sliding bollards are installed alongside the fixed bollards already fitted.
