It has been revealed that almost 7500 children are living in poverty in York. This information has been brought to light by the End Child Poverty Coalition.

The research provided by Loughborough University for the coalition, tells us that many parents are going without food so that their children can eat. It also shows that some families are also unable to afford school uniforms.

This information comes merely days after City of York Council declared a “cost of living emergency” in the city.
