Clean Air Night 24th January 2024 - the harmful side of domestic wood burning.
City of York Council is encouraging participation in Clean Air Night taking place today, an initiative to raise awareness of the negative effects of wood burning, including being harmful to our health. According to the Clean Air Hub, domestic wood burning is the largest source of harmful small particle air pollution in the UK; even houses with the most modern wood burners are three times more polluted than homes without.
Further effects not only include the pollution of the planet, but damage to our wallets too. The initiative will share videos from 16.35 this evening to reveal the myths of wood burning.
