A York city centre opticians is set to close after nearly two centuries of business.
Coverdales Opticians in Walmgate will close in late May of this year, most likely on 26th May.
The business, which has been open in the centre of York for 150 years, has stated that its closure is due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the recent economic downturn.
Walmgate has been the home of the business since 1990, with spells in Gillygate as well as Parliament Street.
For many, Coverdales will be a big miss.
