The local democracy reporting service cited a council report following issues with covid, rising costs and design points which has led to City of York Council cancelling the contract. The decision will also impact other adjoining projects as it is the funding stream for other elements of the masterplan.
Critics claim the project is drifting but the council says the Castle Mills project is making “significant progress”.
