Plans have been submitted to refurbish a former NHS treatment centre to help young people with disabilities.
North Holmes is looking to create four independent living areas at the former Acomb Learning Disability Units in York.
The housing association has stressed the need for accommodation that supports people with autism and learning disabilities, and due to high housing costs in the city, there are few opportunities to create such housing.
The City of York Council is yet to determine the application.
