​​​​​​​For the first time ever, York residents will be required by the government to show photo ID in order to be able to vote in person for any future elections.

For the first time ever, York residents will be required by the government to show photo ID in order to be able to vote in person for any future elections.

Locals are being urged to ensure they are ready to vote on 4th May by checking if they have a valid form of ID. These include a valid passport, photo driving licence, and certain travel passes. To see the full list of accepted forms of identification visit the gov.uk website.
