Halloween Disco at Web Adventure Park

By Barbara Constable

Early evening entertainment was laid on by Jorvik Radio to entertain the younger Halloweenies at Web Adventure Park on Monday evening.

On Monday evening myself, Robbie Burns and Stephanie Leighton-Miles put on a little disco show for the Halloween visitors to Web Adventre Park.

Families went to great lengths to dress their little ones up for Halloween and they were all up for a party!

Robbie Burns from Jorvik Radio's Burnsies Breakfast Club show had a little trouble getting the sound system to work (watched by all these faces waiting to dance and try and win a prize - you think he would know how to set up the equipment by now!!.). He didnt bother dressing up either as he believes he is scary enough.  I made an effort though and used my best Lancome face products to make me Hallowoweenish.

The minute to music came on all the children were not shy and were out there on the floor dancing away.  Might have been the offer of sweets though!! (authorised by all parents).

So we ran a few competitions.  Sephanie Leighton-Miles and myself were judges.  First up was musical statues - and they were soooo good.  But the best was "finding the best dressed Halloween Mummy".  So all the children were given a toilet roll each and with the help of their parents were turned into mummies in five minutes.

Again they were all so good and creative but the clear winners were Oscar and Elena.  Well done to you both.

Oscar, aged 6,  the winner out of the boys as the best Halloween Mummy

Parents were able to sit down, eat and chill whilst their children all dressed up had great fun in the indoor play area - theres a soft play area for the over fives consisting of slides, bridges, climbing frames and mirror rooms. There is also an under fives play area with slides, building blocks and a ball pit.  The babies are not forgotten either with a sensory area.  All areas were being well used and one of the two birthday rooms was in full party mode with Mishka and his friends celebrating his sixth birthday.

Remember this is just the inside play area and there is a cafe and kiosks serving hot and cold food and drinks. There is, of course, the outdoors play area as well to explore.  With climbing frames, a water zone, a huge sandpit, a team of friendly animals to say hello to, and loads more!  At the weekends everything changes and the theme park with rides is open as well.

Web Aventure Park is open every day 09.30am to 6.00pm and you have to register on the site before you can visit.

The Adventure Park was set up in 2004 and has grown immensely since then.  Web Adventure Park is Jorvik's Business of the Week this week and Janice Humphrey, the Managing Director, came into the studios on Monday morning to speak with Nick Love.  You can listen to the interview on our LISTEN AGAIN feature Listen Again - Jorvik Radio.
