Into the Woods: Castle Howard's magical fairytale experience has arrived!

This Christmas, Castle Howard becomes a wonderland of happily ever afters, fair maidens and magic as they bring you a Christmas experience like no other.

After the sell-out success of last year’s ‘Christmas in Narnia’ experience, Charlotte Lloyd Webber Events and The Projection Studio have now transformed the grand rooms into magical forests and faraway kingdoms.

Charlotte Lloyd Webber said “This year, we’ve taken all the classic fairytales that we all know and love so well and we’ve mashed them all up to create a special Christmas narrative that moves through the house.”

Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty and Red Riding Hood are some of our favourite characters brought to life through theatrical installations and projections with the fairy tale stories enhanced by state-of-the-art soundscapes.  You can hear glass slippers on ballroom floors and horse-drawn pumpkins echo through the great halls. 

The characters are all running away from enemies and come together on their journey into the woods but you will find lovely surprises along the way.

A spectacular finale brings you to the Cinderella room where the “now grown up” characters feature in Cinderella’s story and its absolutely enthralling. 

And after the most magnificent experience you can then enjoy a “Happily Ever Afternoon Tea” as well as get those all important gifts for Christmas in the gift shop, food shop or garden centre.

There is so much to this magical Christmas experience at Castle Howard which is open to the public from Sunday 12^th November until Saturday 2^nd January 2023.

Tickets are £27 for adults and £13.50 for children with under two’s free.  You can add you Happily Ever Afternoon Tea to your purchase @ £29.95 per person.

The wonderful Christmas tree is 26ft tall and has 3000 decorations and the woods area has approximately 80 real Xmas trees!
