Jorvik Radio announced today their strategic media partnership with NE Musicals.

Jorvik Radio announced today their strategic media partnership with NE Musicals.

NE is a theatre company in York creating new and exciting musical productions and have historically worked with Jorvik Radio on commercial media campaigns, promoting productions such as Wind in the Willows, Priscilla, and most recently the sell-out production of ‘Oliver’ the highly popular musical.

This partnership cements the relationship with Jorvik Radio who becomes the official radio station partner with NE Musicals.  Jorvik Radio will provide NE with pre-show and interval soundtrack, as well as interviews with members of the cast on Jorvik Radio’s flagship breakfast show and will be the prime outlet for promoting upcoming productions.

Jorvik Radio will run competitions for the public to win tickets to NE performances and there will be opportunities to obtain half price tickets through the Jorvik Radio website voucher scheme.

Bill Colman, Managing Director at Jorvik Radio said: “I am delighted that we have entered an exclusive radio media strategic partnership with NE Musicals – they do great work in the local community offering a unique and creative outlet for budding thespians as well as providing great entertainment for York’s residents and visitors.  NE stands for "new" and "exciting" which is wholly appropriate for our partnership."

Robbie Burns, Station Manager at Jorvik Radio added: “This has been a long time coming. We’ve worked with NE for a while, and to be able to become the official media partner of a fantastic company is something I and the team at Jorvik Radio are very honoured to be part of.”

“The arts have suffered dramatically during the pandemic, and as a local broadcaster, supporting the arts is closely aligned to our ethos as a local York radio station that prides itself on reflecting the community it serves.”

Steve Tearle, Chairman of NE Musicals welcomed the partnership and said: “I’m so looking forward to working with Jorvik Radio. Their professionalism and can-do attitude are fantastic, and I think together NE and Jorvik Radio will continue to prosper.”

You can listen to Jorvik Radio on 94.8FM in York and surrounding areas, online at jorvikradio.com and via their free app which you can download from your app store.

NE Musicals have recently announced they are performing ‘Into the Woods’ at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre next year.  You can find out more by visiting the NE Musicals York Facebook page: N E Facebook or nemusicalsyork@gmail.com.
