Limited time to benefit from 40% contributions towards support for businesses in York

Business Scale Up encourages businesses to make the most of 40% funding contribution before 1st April 2023.

Business Scale Up was formed in 2019 as a £2.8 million programme part-funded by the European Social Fund. The programme helps businesses based in York, North Yorkshire and East Riding to identify and access the support they need to grow. 4

By accessing support through Business Scale Up, businesses can save significant amounts of money on training and consultancy. Since 2021, the programme has provided businesses with 40% funding contributions towards development in areas such as leadership and management, health and safety, mental health, employee engagement and retention, sales and more. Over the last two years, Business Scale Up has invested over £700,000 with SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) businesses across the region, prompting significant growth.

The programme is due to end in September 2023, and the team behind it intends to support as many SMEs as possible before this date. That’s why, from 1st April 2023, the standard funding contribution businesses can access will change from 40% to 30%. This means that employers can still benefit from significant discounts on the support they need, and Business Scale Up can make an even wider impact across York, North Yorkshire and East Riding in the time it has left.

Business Engagement Advisors working on the programme encourage businesses to get in touch to book the support they need before the end of March. “If you book before April 1st, you can still get the 40% contribution, even if your workshop or training event is scheduled for later in the year,” explains Helen Rice, Business Scale Up Programme Manager. “Of course, 30% off is still a fantastic offer that could potentially save a business thousands of pounds in training fees. Our main goal is to support as many SMEs as possible, however that looks for them.”

Limited spaces are available on selected courses and workshops, so act fast to make the most of Business Scale Up’s offer.
