Positivi-Tea Blend

Available exclusively on the Keeping Digital Foundation online store, the local charity has partnered with Bird & Blend Tea Co to create their very own Positivi-tea tea blend to help people with their technophobia, whilst also working to raise awareness of how people can get support.

Ever heard anyone say "I don't like new technology!". Maybe you've said it yourself? Well, for some people, this can become technophobia, or the fear of technology. Technophobia is defined as the intense fear or dislike of advanced technology or complex devices, especially computers.

How common is it? In fact, technophobia is surprisingly common. According to new Google search data, the UK is the second most technophobic country in the world! Most recently fueled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and increasing cyber attacks, it's thought most people experience a little bit of anxiety when confronted by new technology.

That's why the York-based charity has partnered with the tea geniuses at Bird & Blend Tea Co to develop their very own calming tea blend. A comforting combination of lavender, chamomile and rose, the tea blend is perfect for any time of day, and is a super relaxing blend to help you think a bit more positively. Plus, it's naturally caffeine-free, making it perfect just before bed.

It comes after months of brainstorming with the experts at Bird & Blend Tea Co, who have a store based here in York. Bird & Blend Tea Co is an eco conscious, independent, people-focused, award winning Tea Mixology Company on a mission to spread happiness & reimagine tea! They were set up and are run by Krisi and Mike, who met whilst studying Politics at university. They started off packing tea in their bedroom and attending markets, building Bird & Blend from scratch while staying true to their ethos and values. Now with an awesome team, multiple retail stores (including the York store) & a thriving international online store, Bird & Blend is leading the way in tea innovation in the UK.

Luke Castle, co-founder of the Keeping Digital Foundation shared his excitement about this partnership: "We're over the moon to have partnered with Bird & Blend Tea Co to create a blend for our charity, with all profits helping us to continue to run our vital services across North Yorkshire. Bird & Blend Tea Co are an independent business that is passionate about tea making, plus they continue to work hard on being one of the most sustainable tea businesses, with sustainability having been at the heart of their business from day one.

"For the past few months, we've been working with the Bird & Blend Tea Co to create our Positivi-tea blend - and trust me, we've sipped our way through many blends! We're delighted at our official Positivi-tea blend, a really comforting combination of lavender, chamomile and rose... what's not to love. Trust me, you won't regret trying this blend! It's already become a staple at our offices.

"We're delighted to partner with an independent brand like Bird & Blend Tea Co, and if you love our blend (which we know you will), make sure to pop into their store on York's Low Petergate, or visit their online store for their full collection. Next time you're having frustrations with the latest development of technology (and trust me... you are not alone), sip on your Positivi-tea and lets tackle it together at our range of services."

Georgina Webb, Brand Partnerships Manager at Bird & Blend Tea Co, added: "We were thrilled to work with the Keeping Digital Foundation to create a tea blend that brings their core values to life. We helped them to create a blend that brings a sense of calm to their visitors, in a busy digital environment. Working with charities and initiatives to help local communities is so important to us and is at the centre of everything we do."

The Positivi-tea blend is exclusively available on the Keeping Digital Foundation's online store, and retails at just £7.15 with all proceeds going directly towards their digital inclusion and digital making support that touches the lives of thousands of residents across Yorkshire every year.
