Apprenticeship Week 2024 takes place this week, 5th – 11th February. The City of York Council is promoting their uptake, hoping to help “upskill, expand and diversify” local businesses. York College hosted an apprenticeship employer fair on Monday, and Derwent Training hosted an apprenticeship open event yesterday. Depending on hours, apprentices can earn a salary between £125 and £350 per week, and in many cases earn a degree at the same time.
Even for those already in employment, an apprenticeship can be undertaken as part of professional development in areas such as management training. There’s loads of information on the government website where you can sign up for weekly email alerts for opportunities in the area.
