Over 2,300 York residents of all ages are currently undertaking an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships continue to play a significant role in supporting the city’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with 80 apprentices currently working at City of York Council or one of the authority’s maintained schools.

The council is also supporting a total 36 apprentices, currently committing £194,000 of support to 7 local businesses through the Apprenticeship Levy Scheme.
