The neighbourhood policing team were checking motorists speed on Bishopthorpe Road over the weekend (Saturday 10 June).
They were in operation to ensure drivers were sticking to the 20mph speed limit. Officers reported that the average speed was 18mph and the majority of people were abiding to the correct limit.
However, 15 motorists were spoken to by the policing team. Ten drivers were given advice and five were reported for excess speed and could be facing speeding convictions.
