The family of a York girl who passed away have been left devastated after thugs destroyed a tree planted to celebrate her life. Millie Wright, of Poppleton, suffered from an auto-immune health condition and passed away in the August of 2021 when she was just 13.
Her dad, Nigel, said a neighbour informed him yesterday morning that the tree, planted on the village green in Upper Poppleton, had been severely damaged. He said, “It’s left the community here stunned to be quite honest.” There is CCTV on the village green and the Police are investigating the vandalism.
