The controversial decision to ban Blue Badge holders from parking on city centre foot streets by the City of York Council has been a talking point once again in recent days.

The controversial decision to ban Blue Badge holders from parking on city centre foot streets by the City of York Council has been a talking point once again in recent days.

Clifford’s Tower was chosen as the destination for Saturday’s protest against the action, which was brought in last November by the council. The famous castle was chosen for the peaceful protest due to the council proposals to redevelop Castle Car Park, where many of the protesters said that around 31 Blue Badge spaces would be lost.
