North Yorkshire Police is once again appealing for witnesses and information following a fail-to-stop collision in York, last December.

A car collided with a bike at just after 6.45am on Thursday 07 December. The car stopped momentarily before driving off up Water Lane. Members of the public who were in the area at the time of the collision have described the car as being a small blue car.

The female cyclist was left with serious facial injuries, and taken to hospital for treatment.

The car involved is described as small and blue. It did not stop at the scene. It is believed a motorcyclist who was not involved in the collision followed the vehicle as it left.

If you were the driver of the car involved in the collision, or the motorcyclist, or you witnessed the collision, please contact North Yorkshire Police straight away. Dial 101, and pass information to the Force Control Room, quoting reference NYP-07122023-0058.

Traffic Constable Mark Davey of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group commented:

“The cyclist sustained serious injuries following the collision and we are committed to doing all that we can to establish exactly what took place.

“ I’m hopeful that by releasing the CCTV footage this will encourage any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage that has not already spoken to us to come forward.”

If you were the driver of the car involved in the collision or can help with information please email mark.davey@northyorkshire.police.uk or call North Yorkshire Police on 101.

Please quote reference number 12230231852 when passing information.
