The Pavement End on the Shambles was initially closed yesterday due to the start of the planned bollard work.
However, the passageway had to be re-opened due to pedestrians being filmed climbing a wall in order to get around the closure.
The Council has said that there wasn’t the right signage, ramps and diversions in place, but the closure will be back in place from tomorrow.
Yesterday was the first day of the planned closure with work expected to last up to five weeks. Construction Work will only be taking place during the weekdays however the pavement end of the Shambles will remain closed to pedestrians throughout the entire period of construction.
