Lee Moran a bin operative working on rounds in the city as well as working at the Hazel Court Household Waste centre, has found a way round the Council’s mandate which specifies you cannot wear shorts even in the current hot weather.

Lee made himself a hi-viz kilt to avoid wearing the regulation ballistic cargo trousers expected to be worn all year round, and said “this is only meant to be a small protest in relation to the shorts situation.”

His actions which he said he was doing for other council workers such as gardeners and highway workers, has provoked a response from the Council saying they will review their policy.
