The York branch of the British Legion has launched its 2023 Poppy Appeal. All proceeds from the appeal will go towards helping servicemen, veterans and their families.
The York branch of the British Legion has launched its 2023 Poppy Appeal. The appeal was launched at Mansion House on Friday morning by Lord Mayor of York Chris Cullwick.
Veteran Dave Ruddock of the British Legion said that between now and November 11, Legion members were around York raising money through street collections, as well as poppy stalls in local supermarkets. All proceeds raised from the appeal will go towards helping servicemen, veterans and their families.
