York Castle Museum has now completed a full review following its partial closure due to the discovery of RAAC within the north side of the museum. This part of the museum housing Kirkgate, the Period Rooms and Shaping the Body, has been closed since the Raac was identified.

A York Museums Trust Spokesperson says that The survey has identified the need for mitigating work in some areas which will need to be undertaken over the coming weeks. This work will ensure that all roof supports reflect the most up-to-date structural guidance and that the north side of the building will stay closed until this work is completed.

They also said that this will mean that the Ghost Court event which was scheduled to take place between 28 October and 5 November will be cancelled. Unaffected parts of the museum are remaining open as well as the shop and the cafe, and a reduced entry offer is currently on.
