York City Council bus service review

Wednesday, 3 January 2024 00:00

By Connie Shaw

Residents invited to comment on bus service reforms.

Key local bus services are being reviewed by the city council to ensure longer-term sustainability. Residents have until the 17th of January to have their say on the review on the council website or paper copies are available in all local libraries in York.

The suggested changes will cut around £200,000, including the Number 11 service decreasing to once an hour rather than every fifty minutes, and the Number 19 service being halved. The council says these proposals will improve stability and efficiency and reflect a post-COVID passenger demand.
