Despite York Gin launching their York Gin Rhubarb which is being distributed via Craft Gin Club as Gin of the Month for March, Howard Smith and Rick Harrison from Interpath Advisory were appointed as joint administrators of York Gin Company Limited on March 2 following a "number of challenges" the company is facing.
Despite York Gin launching their York Spring Gin which is being distributed via Craft Gin Club as Gin of the Month for March, Howard Smith and Rick Harrison from Interpath Advisory were appointed as joint administrators of York Gin Company Limited on March 2 following a "number of challenges" the company is facing.
York Gin has two shops run by their sister company at the Pavement and York Railway Station (York Gin Company (Pavement) Ltd) and these will continue to operate with all 10 staff transferring from York Gin Company Limited which has now ceased trading.
Their distillery in Poppleton remains open for visitors but no new gin will be made for the foreseeable future.
The company was established in 2016 and the Pavement shop was awarded " Shop of the Year 2022" in the Visit York Tourism Awards.
