Tim Wilson is set to inspire the next generation of budding young performers in York after taking over the Stagecoach Performing Arts franchise business.

Having been a singing teacher at Stagecoach for more than 18 years (also teaching singing for 15 years at Stagecoach York), Tim will bring his creative and professional experience to the young acting, singing, and dancing students as the new Principal of the established school.

Alongside his work as Principal, Tim is also involved in the day-to-day running of music teaching and extra-curricular music support across various primary schools in the Yorkshire area.

Tim graduated with a degree in performing arts and a master’s degree in community music, while also working as a director and performer of classical, musical theatre and Shakespearean performances.

Tim has also led the preparation of music festivals and performances, and a variety of regional projects, including The Voices Foundation, Mahogany Opera, and The Royal Opera House.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to build a strong, creative programme that will challenge the talented children of York, whilst being fun, educational, stimulating and rewarding for them. Our work will give them the opportunity to experience a variety of performing arts and be inspired and encouraged to realise their potential,” says Tim.

“We have been extremely busy planning activities and the year ahead, including some exciting events and upcoming performances at the Jorvik Viking Festival, York Community Choir Festival, and our in-house show of The Little Mermaid.”

Stagecoach Performing Arts York is part of the biggest network of extracurricular performing arts schools in the UK. The classes are divided across various age groups: Early Stages (ages 4-6), Main Stages (ages 6-15) and Further Stages (ages 15+), and cover singing, dancing, and acting.
