Adam Hinshelwood’s pre-season preparations have seen a visit from League One side Huddersfield Town and a trip to National League North's Spennymoor Town announced so far, with Sheffield United becoming the Minstermen's third confirmed pre-season friendly fixture.
Chris Wilder's side succumbed to relegation from the Premier League after a difficult 2023/24 season. A bounce back is likely to be on the radar for the Blades.
City last tested themselves against United ten years ago, hosting them at Bootham Crescent in the final pre-season home friendly ahead of the 2014/15 season.
Supporters would have to go back to 2002 for the last competitive fixture between the two sides - a 1-0 loss in the League Cup.
