2nd Acomb (St Stephen’s) Scout Group are growing by the day.

With nearly 80 adult volunteers, the popular Scout Group in York has been able to expand further and create a second Scout Troop to accommodate even more young people for an experience of fun, adventure and life skills.

Becky, Lead Volunteer for the Group, believes that there is always a role for you within Scouting. The roles in the group range from leading a section to being the designated shopper! Volunteering at 2nd Acomb Scouts is about allowing you to let your skills shine through.

Alex, volunteer at the group, says “No matter how old (or young!), Scouting is for everyone. It’s a constant rollercoaster of laughter and friendship along with enjoyable experiences.”

The most recent Scout Troop launched less than 18 months ago for boys and girls aged 10 to 13. With the backing of this enthusiastic team, Scouts have been able to go hiking, camping and even abseiling down Appersett Viaduct with so many more activities, adventures and events planned.

The welcoming bunch are always keen to make new friends, if you think you’d like to be a part of something special – please do get in touch with Becky on gsl@2ndacombscoutgroup.co.uk with opportunities to fit around you.
