Arrests made after spike in motorcycle theft.
Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles over the last two weeks, North Yorkshire police say, with both boys having been released under investigation. This follows the launch of ‘Operation Ignition’ at the beginning of January to tackle the rising moped and motorbike thefts in the city. The council advises to ‘lock, chain and cover’ your vehicle as thieves can steal in a matter of seconds.
North Yorkshire police are asking the public to report anything suspicious to 101 or their website.
