The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for this week across the north of the country, including York and North Yorkshire.

It’s believed that between 10 and 20cm of snow could fall in some areas, with temperatures due to fall to -6˚C at night.

The warning says that there is small chance the weather could cause delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur.

It says there is also a small chance that interruptions to power supplies, gas and water could be affected.

The warnings have been put in place for both Thursday and Friday this week, although other yellow warnings are in place for snow showers and ice until Wednesday.
