The York Racecourse has raised a huge sum for cancer charity Macmillan over its race season over summer.
After last Saturday’s finale to the fixtures at York Racecourse the final amount of money raised for Macmillan was calculated at an astonishing £487,000.
York Racecourse have had a long-standing partnership with the charity having raised upwards of £9 million over the last 50 years.
The amount was raised from the Macmillan race day as well as contributions from sponsors, charity races, supporters, auctions and the racecourse themselves.
