York City FC can confirm our latest summer addition as right-back Levi Andoh commits to the Minstermen.

Amsterdam-born Andoh becomes the Minstermen’s fifth new signing of the summer after David Stockdale, Cedric Main, Quevin Castro, and Zanda Siziba.

On joining the Minstermen, Andoh said: “I’m so pleased to get it over the line, just happy to be here.

“It was a quick turnaround, I only heard about it a few days ago. My agent let me know they were interested and we just got the deal over and done with.

“I’m quick, aggressive, love a good tackle, getting forward. I just like to help the team out.

“The stadium, the fans. It’s a great club. I played here a couple of years ago and I thought I’d love to play here week in, week out.”

The 23-year-old defender began his career with Aston Villa’s academy, before going on to have spells in Non-League with Cradley Town and Worcester City.

Promising form earned a move to Ipswich Town in December 2019 after he featured several times for their U23 side on trial, and he made his debut for The Tractor Boys in an EFL Trophy match against Crawley Town a year later.

After a two-year stay in Suffolk, the 6ft 3in defender, who operates mainly on the right-hand side but can also play in central defence, then joined Hereford originally on a short-term loan deal.

After spending further loan spells with Buxton and Hednesford Town, Andoh re-joined National League North side Hereford in January.

The deal is subject to National League and FA Approval.
