York City FC are delighted to announce the signing of 20-year-old left-back Thierry Latty-Fairweather following his exit from League One side Burton Albion.

English-born Thierry started his professional career with the Brewers who picked up the defender upon his exit from Nottingham Forest’s academy.

Latty-Fairweather broke into the senior team in Staffordshire and made five appearances, four of which came in EFL League One.

He completed multiple loan moves from Burton, plying his trade last season with Hereford in National League North.

The 6ft 3in defender made 22 appearances for The Bulls last season, and 21 for Guiseley at non-league's second tier the season before.

The versatile full-back, who operates mainly from the left-hand side, is acknowledged for his energy and athleticism.

On joining the Minstermen, Thierry said: “I’m very excited to be here.

“I’m someone who likes to get up and down a lot and try to create. Slip people through, be creative, and defend well one v one.”

Having played against York before, he added: “I like the stadium; I liked the atmosphere. The fans were great to be honest, obviously I was opposition, but it seemed like a good environment.”

The deal is subject to National League and FA Approval.
