The 23-year-old has penned a permanent deal with the Minstermen following his release from League Two’s Stockport County, where he signed in the summer of 2023 before heading out to Gateshead on loan.

Supporters who attended either fixture against Gateshead over the festive period will be familiar with the forward, having featured in both games for the entirety.

Hull-born Billy joined The Tigers’ academy setup aged-11, working his way through the ranks for 12-years.

A debut for Hull City was earned in September 2020, coming on as a substitute against Leicester City U21s, where he set up Keane Lewis-Potter’s goal in the 2-1 defeat with a pinpoint cross into the area.

A week later, Chadwick turned out again for The Tigers, coming on as a substitute against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup. The forward stood up and scored a penalty to make it 8-8 in a shoot-out which the Tigers later won 9-10.

After further substitute appearances during November 2020, Billy was given a contract extension until 2022 when a further option was taken to keep him until 2023.

FC Halifax Town acquired the services of the forward initially in December 2020, scoring on his debut against Hartlepool United. He finished his one-month spell at The Shay with three goals in five appearances.

Three substitute appearances in League One, and one in the EFL Trophy, for Hull City eventually led to a second Shaymen spell, where a further two goals in 13 appearances followed.

Linfield, of the Northern Irish Football League, called for Chadwick in the 2021/22 season. The forward made 18 appearances for the Blues all together, including three in the UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifiers where he netted one, before a serious knee injury ruled him out for the season.

Chadwick then spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at National League North side Boston United once recovered, scoring 11 goals in 20 appearances, and earned the division’s Goal of the Season award for an extraordinary long-range strike against Leamington.

Having joined Stockport County following his release from Hull City in the summer, the forward racked up 23 appearances, five goals and two assists for the Heed during his spell in the North East.

Welcome to the Minstermen, Billy!
